Julie truly enjoys listening to others share their perspectives and experiences in one-on-one conversations, meeting, and even public hearings (yes, there is such a thing as a person who enjoys meetings). She is awed and inspired by problem solvers, who are determined to use their experiences and expertise to improve lives in their communities and throughout state.
Julie Cofer Hussey has built several business while giving freely to her family and community. She has spent 25 years trying to explain and engage this district on some of the region's most important planning and infrastructure construction projects. She has supported her husband in his woodworking business and their co-working space for other "messy craftspeople." She has offered at least eight thousand hours of her time and strategic thinking to her neighborhood, her children's schools, democracy, and social justice issues. She served all of the children of this state as the vice-chair of the board for SC's early childhood education agency, SC First Steps, including driving to Columbia for every board and committee meeting. Julie has done all of this while raising two amazing sons - one who is a midshipman at the US Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY and the other who is a Sophomore at Clemson studying bio-chemistry.
